The SSD will speed up disk access functions and that will help in the overall experience. I just bought a reconditioned Samsung EVO 840 120gb SSD to install in place of the WD drive since I don't necessarily need a ton of storage space - it's an augmentation to my existing desktop computer.

The processor scores a 3 on the Windows Experience, so it's no speed demon. I also cleaned up and restored the Windows Image file - I bought mine used. I've sped mine up by disabling all visual effects, reducing menu latency timings in the registry, running defrag, cleaning out all of the temp files for both regular disk clean-up and system files clean-up, and running the minimum amount of processed needed for windows 8.1 to function properly. I have the V with AMD E1 1GHz processor and 4GB SO-DIMM memory.
